NeuroNest
Finally, your brain makes sense.
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 6, 2026 · Last Updated: July 6, 2026
NeuroNest is built on a foundation of trust. You are sharing some of the most personal parts of yourself — your emotional states, your relationship struggles, your thought patterns. We take that seriously. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what rights you have over it. We will never sell your data. We will never use it to advertise to you. Your self-reflection data belongs to you.
1. Who We Are
NeuroNest ("we," "us," or "our") is a psychoeducational mobile application designed for neurodivergent adults and their partners. NeuroNest is operated by its founder and is available at myneuronest.me.
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at: hello@myneuronest.me
2. What NeuroNest Is — and Is Not
NeuroNest is a psychoeducational tool, not a clinical service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for clinical assessment and treatment.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features. Here is everything we collect:
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: Your email address and password when you create an account. Optionally: your name, pronouns, and relationship status.
- Quiz responses: Your answers to the 4-question neurotype assessment and the resulting pattern label (e.g., "ADHD-Dominant Pattern").
- Journal entries: Text you write in the Journal Entry screen, including your selected nervous system state and any AI-generated summary you choose to save.
- Cognitive states: Your Overload Meter logs — the state you select (Regulated, Elevated Load, System Overloaded, Shutdown Mode) and the timestamp.
- Conflict descriptions: Text you enter into the Conflict De-Escalator. This text is processed by AI but is never stored in our database. It exists only for the duration of your session.
- AI conversation history: Messages you exchange with the AI Companion, stored so your conversation persists across sessions.
- Partner link data: If you generate an invite link, we store the invite token, connection status, and your partner's user ID if they accept.
- Love Signal logs: When you send a Love Signal, we log it as a cognitive state entry.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage tracking: We track how many times per month you use AI-powered features (AI messages, journal summaries, overload logs) to enforce free tier limits. We do not track general browsing behavior or build advertising profiles.
- Authentication data: Managed by Supabase Auth, which stores session tokens securely.
3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or camera.
- We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
4. Microphone Access
NeuroNest may request access to your device's microphone solely for the breathing exercise feature in the RSD Emergency screen and Minimalist Mode. We do not record audio. We do not store, transmit, or process any audio data. Microphone access is used only for on-device animation timing and is never sent to our servers. You can deny microphone permission and all other features of the app will continue to work normally.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to provide and improve NeuroNest's features:
- To create and manage your account
- To generate your Nervous System Passport based on quiz results
- To power your AI Companion conversations using the Anthropic Claude API
- To generate AI journal summaries and conflict de-escalation scripts
- To sync your emotional state with your connected partner (only if you have enabled this)
- To enforce monthly usage limits on the free tier
- To respond to your support requests
We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
6. AI Processing — How It Works
NeuroNest uses the Anthropic Claude API to power its AI features including the AI Companion chat, journal summaries, conflict de-escalation scripts, and relationship check-in insights.
When you use these features, relevant content (your message or journal entry) is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic processes this data according to their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
Important: Conflict De-Escalator text is sent to the AI for processing but is never saved to our database. Once you close the screen, it is gone. This is intentional — your conflict descriptions are private by design.
7. Partner Data Sharing
NeuroNest's Relationship Bridge feature allows you to connect with a partner. Here is exactly what your partner can and cannot see:
Your partner CAN see:
- Your current Overload Meter state (only if you have logged one)
- A human-readable translation of your state (e.g., "Your partner needs quiet right now")
- Love Signal notifications you choose to send
- Journal entries you explicitly choose to share (shared_with_partner = true)
Your partner CANNOT see:
- Your raw journal entries (unless you explicitly share them)
- Your AI Companion conversation history
- Your quiz answers or detailed profile data
- Your conflict de-escalator inputs
You are always in control. You decide what your partner sees. You can disconnect your partner at any time from the Relationship Bridge screen, which immediately removes their access to your data.
8. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure. We use the following security measures:
- Row Level Security (RLS): Every database table has RLS policies that ensure users can only access their own data. No user can read another user's records.
- Encrypted transmission: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
- Secure authentication: Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Session tokens are stored securely on your device.
- API key protection: The Anthropic API key is stored server-side only and is never exposed to the client application.
9. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active.
- Journal entries and cognitive states: Retained until you delete them or delete your account.
- AI conversations: Retained until you delete your account.
- Usage tracking: Monthly counts reset at the beginning of each calendar month.
- Conflict De-Escalator inputs: Never stored. Deleted immediately after processing.
- After account deletion: All your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
10. Account Deletion
You have the right to delete your account at any time. To delete your account:
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account within the app
- Or email us at hello@myneuronest.me with the subject "Delete My Account"
Upon account deletion, we will permanently delete your profile, quiz results, journal entries, cognitive state logs, AI conversation history, partner link data, and usage tracking data within 30 days. Your email address will be removed from our authentication system immediately.
11. Children's Privacy
NeuroNest is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@myneuronest.me and we will delete the account immediately.
12. Mental Health Data — Special Protections
We recognize that the information you share in NeuroNest — your emotional states, relationship struggles, and neurodivergent patterns — is sensitive. We apply additional care to this data:
- We will never share this data with employers, insurers, or advertisers.
- We will never use this data to make automated decisions that affect your legal rights or access to services.
- We will never sell this data under any circumstances.
- Law enforcement requests: We will only disclose data in response to a valid legal process, and we will notify you when legally permitted to do so.
13. Third-Party Services
NeuroNest uses the following third-party services to operate:
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any advertising networks.
14. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (see Section 10)
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@myneuronest.me. We will respond within 30 days.
15. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- The right to delete your personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the app and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of NeuroNest after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
